Kate Fisher’s blood donation advocacy work through Milkshakes for Marleigh has again been named as a finalist in the Ausmumpreneur Awards 2024. In 2023, she was a finalist in the categories “Podcast of the Year” and “Against the Odds” and she won Silver Awards in the Global Impact and the Social Enterprise/Non-Profit categories.
In 2024, Kate and Milkshakes for Marleigh have been named as a finalist in the categories of:
- Author of the Year;
- Podcast of the Year;
- Women changing the World;
- Business Excellence: Non-profit; and
- PEOPLE’S CHOICE: Non-profit.
Kate is thrilled to be named as a finalist again this year alongside such impressive women.

Kate travelled to London in May 2024. She was invited to address The Women Changing the World Summit, Windsor, UK and was the winner of the Women Changing the World Global Impact Award: Non-profit of the Year 2024. The Awards were presented by Dr Tererai Trent and The Duchess of York, Sarah Fergusson.
Kate’s daughter Marleigh has a life-threatening condition with no cure called Autoimmune Encephalitis. While there is no cure, treatment is possible with Intravenous Immunoglobulin Infusions (IVIG) made from donated human blood and plasma. This treatment is lifesaving when she has an acute relapse and life preserving for every infusion in between. Marleigh will be dependent on Australian blood donors for life.
