Kate Fisher to Speak at TEDxBrisbane 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brisbane, Australia — 24 April 2026 — Milkshakes for Marleigh is proud to announce that its Founder, Kate Fisher, will take the stage at TEDxBrisbane on Friday, 24 April 2026, sharing the powerful story behind one of Australia’s most impactful grassroots blood donation movements.

Founded in honour of Marleigh, Milkshakes for Marleigh has grown into a global community dedicated to increasing blood and plasma donations while supporting families navigating childhood illness. What began as a deeply personal response to adversity has evolved into a movement that bridges lived experience with meaningful, life-saving action.

Kate Fisher’s TEDx talk will explore the intersection of grief, advocacy, and systemic change—highlighting how community-led initiatives can influence national health outcomes. Drawing on her personal journey and the collective impact of thousands of donors and advocates, Kate will challenge audiences to rethink how everyday actions can contribute to extraordinary change.

“This moment represents not just my story, but the story of every person who has rolled up their sleeve, shared our message, or supported a family in need,” said Fisher. “Milkshakes for Marleigh has always been about community—and this stage allows us to amplify that message even further.”

Through her work, Kate has helped mobilise a growing network of blood donors across Australia, working in partnership with Lifeblood teams and advocacy groups to ensure more patients have access to critical treatments. Her TEDxBrisbane appearance marks a significant milestone in bringing grassroots health advocacy into broader national and global conversations.

The Milkshakes for Marleigh community is encouraged to follow along, share the message, and continue supporting blood donation efforts in the lead-up to the event.
