She the author of the Amazon #1 bestselling book Milkshakes for Marleigh, where she tells extraordinary tales of survival thanks to Australian blood donors.
Kate is the founder of the Milkshakes for Marleigh blood donation advocacy movement where she is on a mission to end persistent critical blood shortages in Australia and around the world. Her daughter Marleigh will be dependent on blood products for life to treat Autoimmune Encephalitis. This treatment is lifesaving for Marleigh during an acute episode and life preserving for every infusion in between. Kate is on a mission to ensure that Marleigh always has the treatment that she needs, while thanking blood donors and encouraging new ones along the way.
Kate is an excellent motivational speaker, while she can discuss confronting topics of infertility, pregnancy loss, parenting children with complex (and life threatening) health conditions alongside physical and neurodevelopmental disabilities, she presents through the lens post traumatic growth.
